This NES inspired mouse is unfortunately just a foam model.

Glow Puppies

“A cloned beagle named Ruppy – short for Ruby Puppy – is the world’s first transgenic dog. She and four other beagles all produce a fluorescent protein that glows red under ultraviolet light.
A team led by Byeong-Chun Lee of Seoul National University in South Korea created the dogs by cloning fibroblast cells that express a red fluorescent gene produced by sea anemones.
Lee and stem cell researcher Woo Suk Hwang were part of a team that created the first cloned dog, Snuppy, in 2005. Much of Hwang’s work on human cells turned out to be fraudulent, but Snuppy was not, an investigation later concluded.” – New Scientist

“Lee’s team created Ruppy by first infecting dog fibroblast cells with a virus that inserted the fluorescent gene into a cell’s nucleus. They then transferred the fibroblast’s nucleus to another dog’s egg cell, with its nucleus removed. After a few hours dividing in a Petri dish, researchers implanted the cloned embryo into a surrogate mother.”
Sounds like the makings of future super powered zombie dogs?
Think we will see these end up on the market as pets? Probably one day.

“No effects or sampling was used. What you see is what you hear (does that even make sense?)
Atari 800XL was used for the lead piano/organ sound
Texas Instruments TI-99/4a as lead guitar
8 Inch Floppy Disk as Bass
3.5 inch Harddrive as the gong
HP ScanJet 3C was used for all vocals. Please note I had to record the HP scanner 4 seperate times for each voice. I tried to buy 4 HP scanners but for some reason sellers on E-Bay expect you to pay $80-$100, I got mine for $30.
I keep hearing parts of the song are out of tune. Keep in mind the scanner and floppy drive are not musical instruments. These are mechanical devices whose motors tend to drift and can cause some notes to be out of tune.” – BD594 on Youtube
Vampires! Whedon slays, Sparkle? Underworld and Spike, yes please!

Joss Whedon slays rumors, Buffy movie? “Not gonna happen. Until I gather the press and make a public announcement myself that it’s going to happen, never believe anything.”
Twilight: New Moon begins production in Canada and Italy. Yay? Haven’t seen the first one. Bring on the werewolves, sparkle vampires that need glow sticks to complete their rave and Dakota Fanning as Jane, “a high-ranking and powerful Volturi member”. Might be worth seeing for Dakota, shes a good actress. I’m still skeptical about the entire..sparkle in the sun thing.
Another Underworld movie in the works? Possibly, and direct to DVD.
James Marsters’ 7 year deadline is coming up. As some may know, when Angel’s last season wrapped up, he had said he would be available to do anything Spike related. A Spike series? Angel or Buffy spin offs, made for TV movies anything. The idea of a Spike series was the focus of discussion at the time. It was brought up again recently and he reminded us that he isn’t getting any younger. He still would do a Spike series, however he would want to do a lighting and make up test to make sure he can still pull off the Spike look. If he can’t he doesn’t feel it would be right to do the series. I would have to agree.
