Wonder Twins land on Smallville.

Sunday, November 15th, 2009 | Sci-fi, Television | No Comments

Wonder_TwinsThe watch tower’s roster is filling fast. Smallville has seen such favorites as Aquaman and references t good ol’ Bruce Wayne.  Green Arrow is a regular now and Supergirl was around and about for a season. Are we gearing up for a Justice League series when Clark finally puts on his red cape and flies off? It would certainly seem so.

Last nights Smallville was enjoyable to me. As annoying some fans would find this, (Or some may have been clueless as to who they were.)  I couldn’t stop giggling.   So who are the Wonder Twins? Aliens my dear Wattson, aliens!

The Wonder Twins, Zan and Jayna are alien teenagers that were introduced along side their blue alien Monkey Gleek on the cartoon Super Friends (Character appeared 1977-1986). They fought along side Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Superman.  They later appeared in Extreme Justice league comics and then Justice League Unlimited. (Slightly changed concept, but it was them.)

We see where this is going?

Wonder_Twins_SmallvilleSmallville’s introduction was in my opinion? Well done. The dialog from those two was as cheesie as the old cartoon. Which to me? Is perfect. I love Zan’s comment that he didn’t think anyone would believe they were Swedish exchange students. That blue monkey? Would have been a little much for what Smallville is. Having the cartoon version of Gleek to Jayna’s phone was the perfect touch to.

Will we see them again next season? I kinda hope so. If anything, more super cards are being introduced for later epic battles, or as I speculate every time someone makes a clear reference, Justice League live action anyone?

Origami Tea Bags

origami_tea

These tea bags created by the principles of origami. While the tea infuses the bird or the shape is gradually expanding.”

Brilliant idea and a lovely concept. Only problem? Most people’s tea cups or mugs aren’t ideal of such a thing.  Would it be worth it to buy glass cups just for this? Probably not… don’t think this is commercialized..yet..
