I LOVE IT. As someone who’s entire house is decorated from things that were made in the 1950’s to early 70’s. I love it and want it. Sadly, it’s just a design prototype from Dave Schultze.

The design features an antique type writer inspired keyboard, retro screen and old fashioned turn on switch. I would love one of these. If it ever becomes real, it better come in purple!

Giant Gundam Robot In Tokyo

Sunday, July 12th, 2009 | Gadgets, Geek, Weird | No Comments

Standing at 59′ tall Gundam robot has arrived in Tokyo overlooking Odaiba Island to help promote their bid for the 2016 Olymics.

I tried to find details on construction of such a thing, but I couldn’t find any. Simply, wow. Right? Soon they will build one that can engage combat?

Queen Bohemian Rhapsody Old School Computers

“No effects or sampling was used. What you see is what you hear (does that even make sense?)

Atari 800XL was used for the lead piano/organ sound
Texas Instruments TI-99/4a as lead guitar
8 Inch Floppy Disk as Bass
3.5 inch Harddrive as the gong
HP ScanJet 3C was used for all vocals. Please note I had to record the HP scanner 4 seperate times for each voice. I tried to buy 4 HP scanners but for some reason sellers on E-Bay expect you to pay $80-$100, I got mine for $30.

I keep hearing parts of the song are out of tune. Keep in mind the scanner and floppy drive are not musical instruments. These are mechanical devices whose motors tend to drift and can cause some notes to be out of tune.” – BD594 on Youtube

At a mere 6.75 inches deep, 10 inches wide, and about an inch tall, the triBook strikes a modest profile–it easily slips into most purses and man bags and completely disappears inside any book bag or backpack. But while portability is nice, it’s typically achieved at the expense of utility, and this is where the triBook is a triumph. When the triBook’s lid is closed, the two side screens tuck in neatly, sandwiched between the main display and the keyboard/touchpad. And when it’s time to use the machine, you lift the lid and unfold the side panels, just as if you were unfolding a cardboard box.

When the two side screens are fully unfolded to form a flat plane with the center screen, you’re left with an ultrawide landscape display of 21 diagonal inches. Indeed, not only is the triBook more portable than the Air, it also offers much more screen real estate. But have fun, play a little. The sides don’t have to pivot by a perfect 180. Cocked at a jaunty angle, each side screen can be set to form a little privacy barrier.” – [Source]
