I say this as most remakes suck. They are either remade by people who don’t know what they are doing or just want to make a quick buck off the current trend (In this case, vampires.)  and half ass it.

HOWEVER! David Tennant will be playing a ‘updated’  Peter Vincent. The character will be trading in his gentle old man appearance and horror tv show titled “Fright Night”. Instead, the new version has a Hard Rock Hotel show called “Fright Night”, is an illusionist  and looks more like a Chris Angel look like.

To me, David Tennant gives the movie a chance. Even if the writers botch the story and the director seems to have steered it into a wall. David Tennant could probably  carry the movie with one hand tied behind his back.

Like something out of a Sci-Fi story, kids are getting “high” off music. Or should I say, as the web sites pitch it, they can buy “doses” and download them to their i-pods and computers.

When I saw one my friends post to an article on facebook about this. To be honest, I thought it was a mistake. Maybe the person writing the article saw a few youtube skits and ran with it. The screen caps the article posted from videos on youtube of kids that recorded their experience…well..it didn’t look like ‘fun’ to me. Heck one looked a little funny or staged. So I did some investigating. It’s real.

I found several articles and sites with information about I-Dosing.  It also wasn’t hard to find a web site selling I-Doses. The one I visited claims you can buy “The highest quality exotic bud, mood enhancement pills and legal hashish.”

All our favorite drugs that came out of the 60′s (and then all the dumb ones that came after) now available in digital form. To be taken in via sound files. The question is, does it work?

These kids seem to be reacting on some level. But,  are they reacting because the variation in pitch and sound is stimulating the same areas of the brain as the drug the music is supposed mimic? Are they reacting because they are psychologically convinced they should? (Ever heard someone say, you can convince yourself your sick?) Or are they faking it for the attention?

Could be all of the above.

This all sounds crazy and dangerous to me. Its something that should be left to being Sci-Fi. Ever seen Warehouse 13? They covered this in one of their episodes. There was a record that when played with an echo, reached out and touched your synapses and made you feel calm, relaxed and loved. While people were standing there drugged out like hippies in a commune, banks were being robbed.

Not only will a secret time-travel hub be housed inside an Apple Store, but one way to travel into the past turns out to be by shaking an iPhone’s clock app.

This wasn’t well thought out. Unless there’s a detail left out here.. wouldn’t this mean anyone who shakes the app would travel in time?

Regardless of my over thinking this detail. The first person who I see shaking their iPhone clock app making comments about they are about to travel in time..gets slapped.

Johnny Depp to play Dr. Who – Thats the buzz going around. But is it just a rumor? That seems up in the air at this point. Here is what’s being said:

-Russell T. Davies reported that the reason he moved on from the show was due to the opportunity to transform the Doctor to the big screen.

- Movie studio sources confirmed with Tor.com today that, while it can’t comment on possible story elements, the casting of Johnny Depp as the Doctor for a 2012 film is confirmed.

Here is what I would like to know….why Americanize it at all? Americans who love Dr. Who love it the way it is. Why should it change to appeal to the masses? House hold name? Dr. Who IS a house hold name. Anyone whos anyone knows who the Doctor is.

So why Americanize it? They didn’t Americanize Harry Potter. It was filmed in England (and surrounding areas) and all of the European lingo and culture remained. The same should be done with Dr. Who – it should be David Tennant or Matt Smith to play the Doctor..not Johnny Depp even though he is brilliant.

                          

Wonder Woman’s costume has always been a wearable tribute to the American flag. Through out the years the colors have stayed the same. Red top with the American bald eagle in gold, blue bottoms with white stars, red boots and her tiara. The top and bottoms have always been skimpy. More or less the same thing since 1941.

Wonder Woman, as seen above, is getting a new look- and it’s about time! While most super heroes from her era have already had their costumes altered through the years to keep up with the times. Wonder Woman always stuck out, clinging to her retro look..not anymore.

Her story is even getting a bit of a face lift along with her appearance and wardrobe.

This change to her story and to her costume, hopefully will help in the campaign to get Wonder Woman on the big screen.

The Amazon thing about Wonder Woman always bugged me. But I can see what the creator was thinking. Guys like hot babes, guys like the idea of an island of all hot babes and guys like comics…. $$$$$$$

This concept work by Russian designer Yuriy Dmitriev presents a simple and effective way to store food and keep it cold.  An idea that is certainly out there. The “biopolymer gel” however leaves one to question the food they are about to eat if it wasn’t stored in a bag or container? Even then it’s like..ehhh.. alien fridge?
